Pokemon GO Generation 2 Possible New Evolutions

Pokemon GO is receiving a new update very soon. Trainers are speculating as to what kind of new surprises Niantic has up their sleeve. It’s well known by now that dataminers have discovered code for a new 100 Generation 2 Pokemon. Releasing them into the wild with this new update would be a great move, since the cold weather has only added to discouragement of the player base. We won’t speculate about that. Instead, we’ll give you a short list of Pokemon GO Generation 2 possible new evolutions of Pokemon that are already in the game.

New Evolutions of Pokemon in Gen 2 PoGo

With the upcoming update to Pokemon GO, many players are expecting to finally be able to catch Gen 2 Pokemon. This would be a very welcome addition, keeping in mind the failing interest in the game. With the winter weather further discouraging trainers, a significant update can go a long way in rekindling the love we have for this game. Now, we’re not going to speculate about the Gen 2 Pokemon. Instead, we’ll go over the probable new evolutions of Pokemon already in the game, so that you can start hoarding those candies.

• Golbat to Crobat
  In Gen 2, Golbat should get a third evolution – Crobat. In the prior Pokemon games, this evolution depneds on the Happiness factor, which doesn’t exist in PoGO. We’ve yet to see how it will come about here, but stock up on Zubat candies just in case.
• Slowpoke to Slowking
  Nothing special to say about this one. Stock up on candy if you want to evolve your Slowpoke into a Slowking, which will probably cost 50 or 100 candies.
• Seadra to Kingdra
  For this evolution of Horsea, you’ll probably need 100 candies.
• Chansey to Blissey
  This evolution will probably cost 50 candies or more, and well worth it.
• Gloom to Bellossom
  Here we have our first instance of a possible branching evolution. So far, Gloom could only evolve into Vileplume. We might get the option to redirect that evolution somehow into Bellossom. We don’t know yet how to trigger this.
• Poliwhirl to Politoed
  This is another branching evolution we might get – Politoed instead of Poliwrath as the final evolution of Poliwag. Again, we don’t presently know how this evolution will be triggered.
• Eevee to Espeon / Umbreon
  Pokemon Gen 2 should introduce Espeon and Umbreon, a psychic / dark evolution of Eevee. This evolution also depends on the Happiness, so we’ve yet to see how it will work in Pokemon GO. It might stay as simple as naming your Eevee according to the Pokemon you want, or the day-night cycle, who knows.
• Onix to Steelix and Scyther to Scizor
  Both of these evolutions in the other Pokemon games get triggered when you trade one of these Pokemon while holding a specific item. Perhaps we can expect the introduction of trading to Pokemon GO?
