If you need the Modern Warfare 2 campaign save bug fix, trust me, you’re not the only one. Many players are experiencing the same issue, which is why we’ve decided to put together this guide. We are going to show you several different solutions that should help fix the campaign progress not saving bug in MW2.
How to Fix Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Progress Not Saving
There are a couple of ways to fix the bug where your campaign progress is not saving in COD Modern Warfare 2. The first one is to either disable your antivirus while playing, or add the game to the antivirus’s whitelist. You can simply search Virus & threat protection in the bar next to the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen. Under Ransomware protection, turn on Allow an app through Controlled folder access and then select Yes to confirm your choice. Click on Add an allowed app, open the folder you’ve installed the game in, and add all the .exe files from the folder, especially cod.exe. You should also open Windows Defender Firewall, select Allow an app or feature through, then Change settings > Allow another app… > Browse > add all the .exe files one by one by clicking Open.
Another thing you can do to fix the campaign not saving bug in Modern Warfare 2 is to disable Controlled Folder Access. To do that, search Virus & threat protection as we’ve explained up top. In that window, turn off Controlled Folder Access. Alternatively, you can instead opt to just add the game to the list of exceptions. Select Allow an app through the Controlled folder access, then browse and add the game’s folder to the list. Hopefully, one of these steps is going to fix the problem for you. If you happen to know another fix that we haven’t mentioned, let us know in the comments. This is just one of a plethora of terrible bugs that are plaguing the game. For example, the campaign keeps crashing and freezing on Xbox and PC. It’s a disaster.
