How to Fix Stuck on Status Installing Screen in MW2

To fix the bug where you get stuck on the MW2 Status Installing screen on PS5, you apparently just have to open Quick Settings by pressing the Options button on your controller. This will open a side menu, from which you need to select Quick Settings, then back out. Apparently, that’s supposed to “trigger a return to the correct menu,” according to the Infinity Ward Twitter account. It’s a simple fix that should help you work around the problem for now. That same tweet says that the problem “will be addressed in an upcoming update,” so that’s nice to know. There’s no word on when you can expect that fix to roll out, but at least there’s a way to get rid of it.

And there you have it, that’s how you fix the MW2 Stuck on Status Installing screen bug on PS5. Modern Warfare 2 is riddled with bugs and glitches of all sorts, which is sadly par for the course for the franchise. Now, if you run into this problem on PC, which is apparently also possible, you might try to do the same thing. However, there’s no guarantee that it will work, since the tweet specifically mentions PlayStation players.
