Cyberpunk 2077 has been revealed to the general public properly for the first time, and what a reveal it is. We get to see 48 minutes of gameplay footage in all its glory. That is a huge amount of information to go through. The highly anticipated game from CD Project Red, creators of the Witcher series, has had a few cinematic trailers before. This is the first time everyone gets to see the game in action. We are walked through several activities every player will get to experience in the game. We are shown glimpses of the character creation, story, quests and all the way to open world, character upgrade and combat. The video has a lot to show, but the main thing is that the game looks amazing and the action shown looks mindblowing.
This is actually the gameplay video all of the gaming journalists had a chance to see at E3 and GamesCom 2018. It is no surprise that CD Projekt Red releases the same footage they let the press see to the whole world. That is what we call fair! Our very own Senior Editor Pavle saw this at GamesCom just a few days ago and you can read his impressions here. Now you can, of course, form your own impressions and opinions. I am truly amazed by what was shown. We see the whole game and lots of its system in action here. What was truly great is the number of little details you could catch if you watched carefully. We will do a full gameplay reveal footage analysis, but for now I will list just a few things I found amazing. We’ve got deep character customization, multiple paths story and quests, open world driving in both 1st and 3rd person, driving combat, hacking skills, engineering skills, wall jumps, double jumps, teleportation, bullet time, ricochet bullets, wall piercing bullets, shooting body parts off, destructible environments and that is just off the top of my head. It is as if someone sat down and thought of all the cool things they would want to put in their game and then went ahead and done it.
There are still a lot of things we need to learn about the game and see, but the first impressions are amazing. To me the game felt like Deus Ex, but with large enough ambition. It reminded me of what Watch Dogs should have been (certainly not what it became). This might be one of the best games to look out for in the future. Pre-orders have appeared on Amazon, but they seem to be too early and not part of the official push. I am thinking we will soon hear about when we can expect the game to come out. In the meantime watch out for Cyber Punk on Twitter or visit www.cyberpunk.net to get official updates. Let us know in the comments what you thought about the gameplay reveal and are you excited as we are?
