Cyberpunk 2077 Will Give You Plenty Non-Lethal Options

If you want to play Cyberpunk 2077 in a pacifist way, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to do so. Almost every weapon and bit of cyberware will have a non-lethal option. What’s one of the defining characteristics of CD Projekt Red RPGs so far? Freedom of choice and approach. And, it seems like they’re bringing the same mindset to Cyberpunk 2077. Among other things, according to PC Gamer, they’ll give you plenty of options to solve problems non-lethally. In fact, you’ll apparently be able to complete the entire game without killing a single soul. That’s a fun roleplaying approach, if you imagine your character as somebody who is more on the pacifist side of things. Or, you can also play a violent, murdering maniac, or anywhere in between.

According to what lead quest designer Paweł Sasko told PC Gamer, “only weapons that are lethal by definition” won’t have a non-lethal options. Like, say, firing a bazooka into someone’s face. That’s gonna be lethal, and no mistake. On the other hand, every other bit of gear will let you use it non-lethally. Or, as Mr Sasko puts it: “Pretty much every gun, pretty much every cyberware, you’re able to use in a nonlethal way. You’re able to knock them down, choke them, make them sleep and so on.” There will be other methods, of course, such as sneaking up to enemies and knocking them out, environmental takedowns, and more.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out on April 16th, 2020. You’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. So far, CDPR has revealed two different editions of Cyberpunk 2077, including the Collector’s Edition. Both versions come with a bunch of cool physical and digital bonuses, which is pretty cool.
