Dying Light 2 Wait for Matt's Summons Stuck Solution - Broadcast Quest

When you get the main story quest Broadcast in Dying Light 2 you’ll get instructions to wait for Matt’s summons and some of us get stuck on this step. During multiple playthroughs of the game I had a situation where Matt didn’t want to call me or summon me at all. Other times it triggered right away. I tried sleeping, doing side missions in the game and various other things. Nothing triggered Matt’s summons. After some extensive testing I think I’ve come to some conclusions. I hope these will help you resolve being stuck on the step wait fore Matt’s summons in Dying Light 2 Broadcast quest.

Wait for Matt’s Summons Quest Step Stuck Bug Solution

A lot of quests in Dying Light 2 seem to be bugged at the moment and people can’t complete certain quest steps. I don’t know if this is just a bugged quest step, since there are many, or is it meant to be this way. After doing various things in the game I did unlock Matt’s summons. I believe you need to be at a certain location in the game for the summons to trigger. At the entrance into the Peacekeeper headquarters there’s a long corridor through metal containers. Two times the wait for Matt’s summons step triggered there for me. Just go through the tunnel in the PK Floating Fortress a few times and see if that triggers it for you.

Dying Light 2 Wait for Matt’s Summons Quest Step Completion Possible Additional Requirement

It could be that you also need to be player rank 4 to unlock it. The quest itself is meant for players rank 4. So, that might be a trigger. It can also be that you need a certain level of stamina to complete the “wait for Matt’s summons” step. This is because you’ll need it for what comes next in the Broadcast quest. For me, the summons from Matt came when I leveled my stamina to 260.

Leveling stamina can happen in two ways. Through player rank and via inhibitors. When you level your Player Rank you get 20 stamina. Leveling player rank is a long process. It requires you to unlock various activities in the open world, like hideouts, metro stations and bandit camps. The best way to level up stamina is to collect inhibitors. You need three inhibitors to level up stamina by 20 points. They are found all over the place and you can check out our handy map of all Dying Light 2 inhibitor locations.

Ultimately, “Wait for Matt’s Summons” might just need enough in-game time to pass. In any case, if it hasn’t progressed after a long time in the game make sure you go through that tunnel in the POK headquarters and see if that unlocks it.
