Fortnite Battle Royale Season 8 Teases Pirate Theme

The seventh season of Fortnite is slowly drawing to a close, with only a couple of days left in its life cycle. Much fun was had and many exciting memories had. I assume; I haven’t had time to play Fortnite lately. Anyway, with Season 7 in its twilight, a new dawn shall soon arise with Season 8. Every new season on Fortnite has a fun theme it revolves around, so people have been wondering what this one will be all about. And, well, if we follow the clue recently left on the Fortnite Twitter, we can make out the new theme pretty easily.

“‘X’ Marks the Spot / Treasure abound / Loot that has been lost / Can always be found.” It’s pirates. Season 8 of Fortnite is gonna be all about pirates. I mean, sounds good to me. We’ve yet to get a good pirate game, so Fortnite might as well give it a whirl. It can’t be worse than goddamn Atlas. I’m honestly intrigued to see what Fortnite is gonna do with pirates; that is, if it indeed turns out that we’re reading into the tweet correctly. This is still conjecture, for the most part. I wonder if they’re gonna add ships to the proceedings, maybe create bodies of water that weren’t there before. It could be interesting.

What’s also eye-catching about the tweet is the whole “‘X’ marks the spot” and “Treasure abound” thing. I’m questioning if that’s a hint to some kind of treasure hunt event that will kick off the season. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Not long now.
