How to Get Beidou Free in Genshin Impact

To get the character Beidou for free in Genshin Impact, you have to play the Thunder Sojourn event. There are four activities in this event – Bolt Blitz, Lightning Round, Weaving Lightning, and Automaton Front. At the time of writing, the fourth activity is not yet live. In the first three, you can earn Thunder Pellets by completing challenges, and you can then spend them in the event shop to get a bunch of different and useful items. Don’t go too crazy, because you’ll need one thousand Pellets to “invite” Beidou.

The second resource you’ll need to acquire Beidou for free are Thunder Crystals. You’ll need one thousand of those, too. However, right now, there’s now way to earn these crystals. We do know that they’ll drop from the Automaton Front activity, though. So, you’ll have to do quite a bit of grinding of that sub-event. Again, the Crystals will also be a currency to purchase stuff in the event store, but make sure to set a thousand aside if you want to get Beidou free in Genshin Impact.

Once you have the resources you need to “summon” Beidou, head into the event menu and click on the Oceanlord’s Oath icon in the bottom, the one to the right of the Event Shop. This will bring up the “Invite Beidou” window. Just click the red “Send Invitation” button in the bottom right, and that’s it. The new four-star character, the awesome captain Beidou, will now be in your character roster. Easy-peasy.
