Forbidden Sands Nornir Chests God of War Ragnarok

Nornir Chests represent some of the most rewarding content in God of War Ragnarok. This is because they reward you with either Idunn Apples (these increase your Health), or Horns of Blood Mead (these your Rage). Naturally, rewards as great as these also require a lot of effort to get them. This comes in the form of usually pretty complicated puzzles that you need to solve before you can open the Nornir Chests. For example, the Forbidden Sands in Alfheim has two such chests, and we are going to show you the Forbidden Sands Nornir Chests locations and solutions for God of War Ragnarok right here.

#1 Forbidden Sands Nornir Chest Location and Solution in God of War Ragnarok

The first Nornir Chest in The Forbidden Sands requires that you light three Braziers near it using your Blades of Chaos. Of course, it’s not as simple as that, as you’ll soon see. Go to the location we have marked in the screenshot below. There, you will see the Nornir Chest in question. When facing it, turn to the right and you will see the first Brazier. This one is within reach, so hurl your Blades of Chaos at it and light it.

For the second Brazier, turn around and leave the immediate area of the Nornir Chest, ducking under the collapsed column. As soon as you get out, you will spot the second Brazier on the top of a ledge outside. This one is a bit trickier. What you need to do is to approach it and then fire a Sigil Arrow at the top of the Brazier first. Then, chain these Sigils downwards until Kratos can reach them with his Blades of Chaos. This will start a chain explosion that is going to light the second Brazier.

The third and final Brazier is a short distance away to the right from the second one. What you need to do here is basically the same – place the Sigils and then chain them until these Sigils reach a spot low enough for Kratos to be able to reach them with his Blades of Chaos. When the chain explosion goes off and the third Brazier is now lit, you can then go back and open the first Forbidden Sands Nornir Chest.

#2 Forbidden Sands Nornir Chest Location and Solution in God of War Ragnarok

The second Forbidden Sands Nornir Chest in GoW Ragnarok is inside a Light Elf Mausoleum. Outside of this location, you will see some rubble. Throw your axe at it to clear your way and go inside. Inside, you will come across the Nornir Chest itself. The way to get it open consists of two steps. Firstly, you need to clear away these magical bindings protecting it. There are three of them, and you need to clear away all of them in one Axe throw. The ropes regenerate if you do not get them all at once, so you need to do this quickly. Aim your Axe at the Twilight Stone (the purple crystal) next to it. Point it at the same angle as the one from our screenshot and throw it. This will take all the ropes out at once.

The next step requires that you light the three nearby Braziers. The first Brazier is on the same side as the Purple Stone, a bit further in the distance. You will see the Brazier and a campfire close to it. Kratos cannot reach this, so what you need to do is to connect the Sigil from the campfire to the Brazier. When you have done that, fire off an arrow at the campfire and this will light the Brazier.

Place the Sigil and then fire an arrow at the campfire to light the Brazier.

The second Brazier is over on the opposite side. It follows the same principle, only that you need to chain several Sigils together from the campfire to the Brazier. After that, fire an arrow at the fire and the second Brazier is now lit. The third Brazier is right above the second. Look up and you will see a door that briefly opens once you shoot it with an arrow. So what you need to do here is to first chain Sigils from the lit second Brazier to the top where the third one is. Shoot an arrow at the door to open it and then an arrow at the second Brazier. If you have done this correctly and fast enough, the third Brazier is now on fire as well. You can now go and open the second Forbidden Sands Nornir Chest.
