God of War Collector's, Stone Mason, Digital Deluxe & Preorder Bonuses

God of War is getting its fair share of preorder bonuses, as well as several different special editions. The preorder bonuses aren’t too egregious, I have to say. As for the special editions, there’s the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Collector’s Edition, and the Stone Mason Edition. Every one comes with a bunch of digital and physical bonuses that any God of War fan would probably like to have.

Well, the God of War release date has finally been announced. Now that we know that, it’s time to go over all of the different special editions and preoder bonuses of God of War that you can get. Cory Barlog, the game’s creative director, detailed all of them in a recent post on the PlayStation Blog. There’s a lot of stuff to go through, so we’re going to dive right in.

Let’s start with the preorder bonuses. According to the post, if you preorder the game at any of the supporting retailers, you’ll get three legendary shield skins. You’ll need an internet connection to access them. Preordering the game at EB Games or Gamestop will earn you the Luck of Ages XP Talisman. It improves the luck of its owner, which nets you increased XP and Hacksilver gain (Hacksilver being a crafting element), and also get increased ability to trigger perks. Lastly, if you preorder the Digital Deluxe edition, and you live in Canada or the US, you’ll also get a limited God of War pin depicting Kratos.

Now for the various special editions. First up, the Digital Deluxe edition, priced at $69.99 USD ($89.99 CAD). It comes with the download of the game, a digital artbook and issue #0 of the God of War comic (both by Dark Horse), a dynamic theme, the Exile’s Guardian shield and the legendary Death’s Vow armor set. The comic book covers Kratos’s adventures between the last God of War and the new one. The God of War Collector’s edition comes with all of the digital bonuses from Digital Deluxe, plus some physical items. These are a 9″ statue of Kratos and Atreus (from Gentle Giant), the game in a steelbook case, 2″ Huldra Brothers carvings, a cloth map, and an exclusive lithograph. It will cost $129.99 USD, or $169.99 CAD. Lastly, the Stone Mason edition. It has all of the digital and physical bonuses from the Collector’s Edition. There’s also the Stone Mason’s ring, 2″ carvings of a horse and a troll, a talking keychain of Mimir’s head, and the Defender of the Chosen shield (in-game digital bonus). This one will be available only in the US and Canada (exclusively in EB Games in Canada), for $149.99/$199.99 CAD.
