How to Tame Familiars in Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds

To tame familiars in Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds, the first thing you will need is to get some Biscuits. You can obtain these by just playing the game, but the best source is the in-game store. They are in the Basic Shop tab, under Adventure Items. There are seven different types of Biscuit, and you can buy up to thirty a week per account. Different Familiars require different Biscuits, so be sure to stock up before embarking on the hunt. You might have to do some experimenting to see which creature likes which treat. On the other hand, low level (one star) familiars can be tamed without biscuits, but you never know what familiar will pop up.

Now that we have the items we need, it’s time to head out into the world and find a Brighterfly. These are glowing, bright-blue butterflies that spawn randomly near monsters. You can come across them from the very begging of the game, but they randomly spawn in the low map areas. The first time we found a fix spawning spot for these creatures was in the Golden Grove. It’s the third area with monsters level 31-39, near Mushroom Rock Valley travel point.

Sometimes there’s just one Brighterfly, but usually they’re in groups. Either way, get near the creature and a hand icon will appear among your action buttons. To tame a familiar in Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds, tap that hand and wait a little bit to reveal the Familiar. The hand icon will turn into a heart, so click that next to feed the creature a Biscuit.

If the Familiar accepts the treat, then that’s it, you’ve managed to tame it. If not, that’s fine, you can immediately try again, as long as you have the correct Biscuit and the timer doesn’t run out. Once you reach level 27, you’ll get Finding the Phantom Butterfly reputation quest from the NPC Sebastian – Friend of the Familiars. This quest will teach you some basics about catching and taming familiars. Check out our Best Familiars in Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds guide if you want to know which Familiars to shoot for. Keep in mind that you might not be able to get them through taming only; gachas gotta gacha.
