The Gwent Closed Beta is slowly coming to a close. Developers at Team GWENT are slowly preparing for the transition into Open Beta. Since they’re expecting an influx of new players, they’re planning to wipe everyone’s player progress and card collection. And understandable move, so that everyone can start on equal ground. However, Closed Beta participants won’t go unrewarded. Let’s go over the Gwent Closed Beta end rewards and Open Beta details.
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game has come a long way. During these last few months, the developers from CD Projekt Red have been hard at work, implementing changes and listening to player feedback. They’ve managed to create a very balanced game with no particular overpowered meta. Instead, players really have to use their brains and skills to defeat the opponent. And when you do lose, there’s always a feeling of fairness.
Now, the time is coming to open up the game for everyone, according to the PlayGwent website. To insure that everybody starts off on equal footing, Team Gwent is planning to wipe all player progress (Including level, Ore and Scraps), as well as card collections. Closed Beta players, however, will get a little something for their troubles, mostly in form of free Card Kegs. You can check out the list below to see what the rewards are.
- Every Card Keg you purchased — we will return you the amount of Kegs you bought with real money.
- Card Kegs for Player Levels — starting from level 5, you get 2 Kegs every 5 levels.
- Card Kegs for your rank — 2 Kegs for each rank.
- All end-season rewards.
- All items granted as gifts from CD PROJEKT RED (like the gift premium Geralt card).
As for the Open Beta, we don’t know much about it yet. There’s no official date yet. However, Marcin Momot confirmed on the CD Projekt Red forum that it won’t start before the Nilfgaard faction update, which comes out on February 6th.
