Harry Potter WU Crash When Clicking On Wizard Avatar - Wireless Error

Crashing when clicking on the wizard avatar in Harry Potter Wizards Unite while trying to access your Ministry ID is a problem that some players have been encountering. It’s a separate problem from when Wizards Unite restarts when you try to add a portrait to the Ministry ID; that comes later, and we’ll cover that here, too. Anyway, given that this is a pretty big issue, you want to fix it as soon as possible. Well, there’s one thing that might work; no guarantees, though. So, with that out of the way, here’s our Harry Potter WU Crash When Clicking On Wizard Avatar – Wireless Error guide.

Game Crashing When Tapping Wizard Avatar Icon – HP Wizards Unite Wireless Error

One of a number of issues facing players of Harry Potter Wizards Unite is the Wireless Error and crashes when they try to access their Ministry ID. That’s the thing you get by tapping the wizard avatar icon in the lower left corner of the screen, aka a pretty important aspect of the game. Now, there’s no real way to make this go away, but there is one thing you can try; if you’ve not granted camera permission to Wizards Unite, that might be the issue.

So, to grant camera permission, tap the Suitcase, then the Gear icon to go into the Settings. Scroll down to the Camera section, and tap Grant Camera Permission. This will bring up a popup window, where you can allow the app to access your camera. That can help. For us, it worked once. Then, it went right back to crashing, I’m sad to report. So, yeah; the only thing that’s gonna help is for Niantic to eventually fix it.

Wizards Unite Restarting When Trying to Add Portrait to Ministry ID

Some people are having trouble, where the game will restart when they try to add a portrait to their Ministry ID. It’s an incredibly annoying problem, especially if you just barely managed to even get into this menu. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any fix for this whatsoever. The only ray of hope here is that Niantic is aware of this issue. According to the Wizards Unite support page, they are “currently investigating this issue and hope to have a resolution soon.” So, there’s that, at least.

And, that’s basically all we know about these avatar / portrait / Ministry ID issues at this point. If you have any further info, please feel free to share in the comments.
