How to Learn Disarming Charm in Hogwarts Legacy for Jackdaw’s Rest Quest – Expelliarmus Spell

In the “Jackdaw’s Rest” quest in Hogwarts Legacy, players will be tasked to follow the ghost of Richard Jackdaw straight into the Forbidden Forest. However, before being able to do that, the game asks them to learn the Disarming Charm. Sounds rather straightforward. However, the confusion here stems from the fact that players don’t actually know what the “Disarming Charm” in Hogwarts Legacy is. Hence, they don’t know how to unlock it. Worry not, as we’re here to explain it. It turns out that this charm is actually the Expelliarmus Spell. If you check the quest’s requirements, you’ll see Expelliarmus listed as a requirement. Thus, you will actually need to unlock the Expelliarmus Spell in order to proceed with the Jackdaw’s Rest quest.

Now that we know what the Disarming Charm actually is, it’s easy to learn how to get it. To get the Expelliarmus Spell/Disarming Charm, you must complete professor Hecat’s Assignment 2. The assignment has two steps:

  • Successfully avoid ten enemy attacks by doge rolling.
  • Cast Incendio 5 times on enemies.

Thus, all you have to do is to find some enemies, complete these two simple tasks, and you’ll unlock the Expelliarmus spell. As a result, you will unlock the next step in the “Jackdaw’s Rest” quest.
