Where to Find Thestrals in Hogwarts Legacy – Thestral Locations

There are two locations where you can find Thestral locations in Hogwarts Legacy. One is way off to the north, in the east of the North Ford Bog region. It’s to the north of the confusingly named East North Ford Bog Floo Flame. The second Thestral Den is almost on the opposite side of the map. It’s in the east of the Maruweem Lake region, just north of the Tower Tunnel Floo Flame. In case you don’t know where either of these locations are, just take a gander at our screenshots below. They should be enough to guide you to the places where the Thestrals spawn. Of course, catching the spectral beasties is a whole different can of worms.

So, now that we know where to find the locations where you can find a Threstral in Hogwarts Legacy, how do you get them? For example for the Foal of the Dead quest, you need to capture both a male and a female Thestral, but they just move so fast. It’s very difficult to aim the nab-sack at them for long enough to fill the five bars necessary to vacuum them up. Sure, you can cast an invisibility spell on yourself, but that wears off as soon as you get the sack out. So, what you should do instead is cast Glacius, aka the freezing spell, on the Thestral you’re trying to catch. This should incapacitate the beast just long enough to fill up all five bars. Happy hunting!
