Spoiler Alert – There will be spoilers for Injustice 2 in the article. Consider yourselves warned!

The Injustice 2 trophy list seems to have leaked almost a month ahead of the game’s release. As you’d expect, the list has its minuscule spoilers here and there, but nothing too major. And then you come across two achievements that all but announce a whole new playable character. This character hasn’t even been announced. In fact, considering how the first Injustice played out, it’s all the more surprising that he’s even here.

The character in question is non other than everybody’s favorite homicidal clown – the Joker. Below, you can see the two achievements that include him.

  • I Love You, I Hate You – Harley must defeat Joker with the final hit coming from Go Night Night
  • Why Aren’t You Laughing? – Joker must defeat Batman with the final hit coming from Not So Funny Is It?

What’s somewhat surprising about this reveal is how Joker’s story wrapped up in Injustice: Gods Among Us. The whole plot of the first Injustice begins when the Joker nukes Metropolis and enrages Superman enough to murder him and establish his totalitarian regime. Then, a Joker from a parallel universe arrives to the scene, because comic books. In the end, Harley Quinn “escorts” the alternate Joker back into his reality.

The question now is how will they incorporate the Joker into Injustice 2? We’ll probably have to wait for the game’s release, unless NetherRealm have some surprise reveal planned.

Injustice 2 is scheduled to launch on May 16th, 2017. You’ll be able to get it on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as an iOS/Android app.
