From what can be gathered, there will be 5 multiplayer maps available at launch: Sandstorm, Zero, Icebreaker, Magma and Derelict. As has already been announced, additional maps will be added for free post launch, as well as new weapons, abilities and characters. There will be 25 character models to choose at launch from both Milky Way and Andromeda races.

You will be able to upgrade weapons and use boosters to add xp, attributes, shields and reduce cooldowns. Experience points can be used after finishing a mission to upgrade your character and evolve abilities. Credits, which are also gained in the missions, can be used to buy packs, weapons, characters and mods. If you don’t feel like playing multiplayer, you can always send in your AI Strike Team, which will gain you the same SP bonuses, but without the MP rewards. Developers strongly suggest to finish the tutorial mission for additional bonuses and rewards.

If you are unsure of Mass Effect: Andromeda, you might want to give its 10-hour trial a chance. Unfortunately, it is available for EA/Origin Access members only, but if you are one, you can try out multiplayer without restrictions. The above mentioned missions that span the division between single- and multiplayer will be heavily featured in the trial which starts on March 16, for the lucky EA/Origin Access holders.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is out on PC, PS4/PS4 Pro and Xbox One on March 21 in North America and March 23 in Europe.
