How to ride Palamute

The easiest way to mount a Palamute is to stand next to it and hold A. However, if it’s not near you, you can also call it using a special command. It can be found in the action bar in the lower right of the screen. Cycle through the options using left or right on the D-Pad until you find “Let Me Ride”. Then press up or down on the D-Pad to activate it. The Palamute will approach you and you’ll climb on its back.

Riding controls

The Palamute can run, jump, attack and even drift. You can also use potions and other items while you’re mounting it. This allows you to save time between rounds, since you can sharpen your weapon or refill your health and stamin while chasing the monster. Here’s a list of controls you can use while riding a Palamute:

ActionButton
MoveLeft stick
SprintR
JumpZR
DriftZL
AttackX
DismountB
Use itemY

Although the Palamute can attack, it’s a simple bit – it can’t really compare to the attacks you yourself can perform with any of the twelve million weapons on offer, so maybe it’s not that useful of an option.
