It’s time for the next installment in the seemingly-immortal 2K franchise. The launch date for NBA 2K18 has finally been announced – September 19th. You’ll be able to pick it up for pretty much every major platform you can imagine. It’s coming out on Xbox One, Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. If you don’t own a new-generation console, don’t worry; you can even play it on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

NBA 2K18 is bringing back Shaquille O’Neal for two editions of the cover. He’ll appear on the Legend Edition cover in his Miami Heat gear, while the Legend Edition Gold edition shows him dunking in his Lakers kit. Big Aristotle was on the cover of 2K games before, specifically 2K6 and 2K7. In his statement, Shaq said:

“I want to thank NBA 2K for their continuous support of my basketball and broadcast career. I’m excited to be on the cover of the NBA 2K18 Legend Edition, and I hope my fans have a blast playing it up big-man style.”

If you purchase the NBA 2K18 Legend Edition, you’ll get 20 card packs in MyTeam that you’ll receive weekly and 100,000 Virtual Currency, as well as some Shaq in-game items. You’ll also get some physical swag – Panini trading cards and stickers and a Shaq poster. The Legend Gold Edition features 20 more card packs, 150.000 VC, and five more trading cards. If that weren’t enough, both editions grant access to the game on September 15th, four days early. The Legend Edition costs $99.99, while the Gold will set you back $149.99.
