Blue Protocol Coming to West - Release Date

Blue Protocol is an upcoming MMORPG that’s being published by Bandai Namco. It’s supposed to launch in Japan by the end of this year, and we got wind that they’re going to be releasing it in the west as well – no official confirmation, though. They’re trying to focus on the Japanese market, so we may have to wait a fair bit before that fabled American release date comes. If you’re wondering about Blue Protocol’s global release, keep reading.

Blue Protocol Coming to West – Release Date

Blue protocol New Trailer

A new trailer for Blue Protocol has just been released showing off dynamic weapon and magic use in a fast-paced combat system. Unlike Genshin Impact, players can play in co-op mode and Blue Protocol is more akin to Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade.

Blue Protocol American release date

Blue Protocol’s launch date hasn’t been set in stone yet – not even the Japanese version. It’s supposed to be released in late 2021, and there have been several bouts of closed beta testing already. They were all in Japanese, of course, but the betas weren’t region locked, meaning anyone who knows the language could have taken part. Keep that in mind in case there’s more of them in the future – and there probably will be.

Obviously, this means that any western release won’t happen before 2022, at least. The only reason we suspect there’s even going to be one is a job listing in which Bandai Namco looks for someone to spearhead the English localisation for Blue Protocol. The trademark has been registered in North America and Europe, as well, so we’re basically just waiting for an official confirmation at this point. If this game tickes your fancy, you might want to check out Tower of Fantasy as well.

Is Blue Protocol on PS4, PS5, Xbox, Mobile, Android?

As for the other info we have – it’s coming to PC definitely, but consoles and mobile are still under consideration. They’ll want to get it onto as many platforms as possible, but they’re going to test the waters on PC first. There are going to be at least four classes from what we saw in the trailers, and mounts are a distinct possibility – we saw the characters riding giant fox-like creatures in the videos.
