Chorus Announcement Trailer Reveals Dark, Moody Sci-Fi Game

Chorus is a dark sci-fi game from the minds of Fishlabs, aka Deep Silver Fishlabs. The game has gotten its first trailer, which doesn’t show any gameplay. It does, however, present us with a potentially interesting story premise. Plus, the video’s description does also mention some details about the gameplay; however, I, for one, am going to wait for official footage before making any definite judgement.

While it doesn’t feature any gameplay footage, this trailer for Chorus certainly does a good job selling the premise. Basically, you play as the duo of Nara, an ace pilot of the Circle with a dark past, and Forsaken, the dramatically-named sentient spaceship. According to the video description, the pair will go on a “quest for redemption will take them across the galaxy and beyond the boundaries of reality to unite resistance forces and stop the Circle and their leader, the Great Prophet, at all costs.”

The video’s narration does kinda spoil things, since, unless I’m very much mistaken, it flat-out tells you that humanity is experiencing a period of peace after Nara’s victory. However, that might just be some kind of red herring; I certainly hope it is. Anyways, their adventure will take Nara and Forsaken across “sprawling space stations and trading hubs,” battling enemies “in exhilarating zero-g dogfights amongst exploding stars, dying planets, atmospheric asteroid belts, glittering ice fields and strange planes of existence outside our own.” Sounds good to me!

Chorus doesn’t have a release date at the time of writing; nothing unusual, considering that it won’t be out until 2021. When it does come out, you’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It’s too early to tell just yet, but based purely on this trailer and its description, I’m on board with this one. We’ll see how it shakes out.
