A new mobile game revolving around the Harry Potter universe. Called Hogwarts Mystery, it’s coming out this year, and it will take place before Harry Potter’s time. You’ll attend school like one of the students, taking classes with beloved professors like Snape and McGonagall, make friends and wizard-duel enemies.

Harry Potter seems to be the next major target for mobile game developers. A while ago, Niantic of Pokemon GO fame announced their own Harry Potter AR game, Wizards Unite. However, Jam City and Portkey Games (nice reference there) have somewhat beaten them to the punch. A new Harry Potter mobile game has entered the ring. It’s called Hogwarts Mystery, and it will launch in 2018. The game will put you in the shoes of a Hogwarts student. You’ll attend classes, learn spells, make friends, and duel your enemies.

In Hogwarts Mystery, you will absolutely get to see some familiar faces from your beloved books / movies. However, according to Geek.com, Harry Potter won’t be one of them. Instead, you’ll be attending Hogwarts before Harry and his friends get their letter. That being said, you will meet characters that already are at Hogwarts in the time line. This includes Hagrid, professor McGonagall, professor Snape, and so on. Basically, you’ll be experiencing your own story, without distractions.

Now, if you’re a Harry Potter fan, you probably can’t wait to start playing. Unfortunately, Hogwarts Mystery still doesn’t have a set launch date as of writing this article. All we know for now is that it will be released some time this year. When the game does come out, you’ll be able to get it for Android, iOS, and Amazon.
