Playstation Now to offer PS4 games as well

Streaming has become an extremely popular way to approach gaming content in the last several years. Twitch is a household name now and many people are living off it. With the rise of fast internet everywhere, streaming games in order to play them has seen some rise in popularity, though the numbers are still far from those of actual platforms. Still, another step has been taken towards playing all games on one platform, with PS4 games slowly becoming available on Playstation Now subscription service.

“They will be able to play Horizon Zero Dawn on what?”

Currently, Playstation Now allows you to play 483 PS3 games on PC and PS4, if you are ready to pay the current annual prescription price of $100. What Sony is doing now is starting a private test of playing PS4 games on PS Now. If you are a lucky subscriber, you just might be invited to participate in this test. The interesting part is that this actually means you can play PS4 games, on a PS4, while streaming. Is this the future we have been fighting for?

PC users might be more interested, as Sony has some very interesting exclusives, some of them known from earlier and some entirely new IPs, such as Horizon Zero Dawn. The only real issue here is that you still need a robust connection, and if you get cut off, you just have to weather it.

Here is a list that Playstation blog states were the most popular on the Playstation Now service in February:

  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2
  • Mortal Kombat
  • WWE 2K15
  • The Last of Us
  • Mafia II
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us
  • NBA 2K14
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution
  • Batman Arkham Origins

If this tickles your fancy, Playstation Now offers a seven-day free trial as well.
