How to Remove Helmet from Companions in Outer Worlds?

To remove the helmet from companions in Outer Worlds, you first have to go pause the game. Then, go into Settings. Step three, go over to the Gameplay tab by using the shoulder buttons or clicking on it or whatever. Under General, find the little “Show Companion Helmet” checkbox. Uncheck that box, and you can see the lovely mugs of your companions in-game once again, even outside dialogues. As far as we can tell, this is the only way to do so.

Yes, I know, this doesn’t technically remove the helmets from your Outer Worlds companions. It’s purely visual; the helmet is still on there, you just can’t see it. Well, the fact of the matter is, once you put a helmet onto a companion, that’s it, you can’t take it off. You can swap helmets just fine from inside the inventory menu, but you can’t take them off. So, the roundabout way of unchecking the “Show Companion Helmet” box. I know, I know, I didn’t make the game, I’m just the messenger here.
