If you’re stuck trying to figure out how to get Cresselia in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl or BDSP, you’re definitely not the only one. After all, it is a Legendary Pokemon, and as such, you have to jump through a number of hoops in order to even come close to catching it. I mean, you have to beat the main story of the game, for starters. So, let’s find out where to find and how to catch Cresselia in Pokemon BDSP.
Where to Find Cresselia Pokemon BDSP
To find and get Cresselia in Pokemon BDSP or Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, you first need to get the National Dex by beating the Elite Four and seeing all 150 Sinnoh Pokemon. With that out of the way, head down to Canalave City and into the second house down from the Pokemon Center, called “Sailor Eldritch’s House.” Talk to both the kid and the mom, then head out and go right. Talk to the sailor and accept his offer to go to Fullmoon Island.
Once there, head up the stairs, then up and to the right, into the forest. That’s where you’ll first meet Cresselia. Interact with it, and it will vanish, leaving behind the Lunar Feather in a Poke Ball. It will now start appearing randomly on the many routes of Sinnoh, but we’ll get to that in a moment. Pick up the feather and go back to the sailor. Return to the house with the sick kid and cure them. It’s a sweet little story, but we’re trying to actually get Cresselia in Pokemon BDSP, so let’s get into that.
How to Catch Cresselia Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
To catch or get Cresselia in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl or BPSD, the first step is to get the Marking Map, because Cresselia works pretty much exactly like Mesprit. You get that from the Poketech Company building in Jubilife City and talking with the guy with the mustache in the top right a few times. You can use the Marking Map to see which route Cresselia is on at the moment.
The trouble here is that Cresselia moves to another route whenever you step onto a different route or enter a town. So, go to a border between two routes and keep going from one to the other until you see Cresselia spawn on the same route you’re on. Stop and save the game, then go into the Grass and walk around until you encounter the Legendary Pokemon. You can use a Wobuffet with the Shadow Tag ability to prevent it from running away. Either way, now you just have to catch it, so good luck!
