Like most Pokemon games, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is also full of iconic Pokemon that you can catch, train, evolve, and battle with. Of course, some Pokemon are harder to acquire than others. These include Manaphy and Mew & Jirachi. Another hard to get Pokemon is Drifloon. This Balloon Pokemon requires that you do several things in precise order, and can be difficult to figure out if you don’t know exactly what to do. How to Get Drifloon Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Driftloon can be found in the Valley Windworks. After you beat the Gym Leader, Roark, in Oreburgh City, when you arrive there, you will encounter Team Galactic trying to take over the Power Plant there. Drifloon won’t appear until you have made Team Galactic leave. To do this, you will need to get the Works Key first. Now for the tricky part. Drifloon appears only on one specific day of the week – Friday. You can encounter it every Friday between the hours of 10 AM and 7:59 PM, outside the Power Plant building. The only exception to this is if you have expelled the Team Galactic bad guys on a Friday. In that case, you will need to wait for next Friday.

While you may think that all you need to do here is to adjust your Switch’s time to Friday, this isn’t wise. This is because doing so will freeze all your in-game time-based events, such as getting the Drifloon, for 24h. What you can do instead, is to set your Switch’s time to Thursday instead. You will still need to wait 24h real time until you can encounter Drifloon, but this is an acceptable alternative. Once Friday rolls ’round, approach Drifloon and interact with it. Defeat it in battle and you will then be able to get it. If you lose or leave combat, you will have to wait until next Friday to try again.

How to Evolve Drifloon to Drifblim

Evolving Drifloon to Drifblim is easy. All you need to do is to level Drifloon up to Level 28 – either via battling or by Rare Candy – and it will evolve into Drifblim.
