How to Get Larvitar in Pokemon BDSP

To get Larvitar in Pokemon BDSP or Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, the first thing you need to do is defeat the Elite Four and become the Champion of Sinnoh. That way, you unlock the National Dex. Next up, head to Sandgem Town and go southeast into Ramanas Park. There, you’ll find (SPOILERS!) Professor Oak, who will give you the Poke Radar. For more detailed instructions, check out our How to Get and Use Poke Radar guide.

The next step is to go to Oreburgh City and head north onto Route 207 and go into a grassy area. There’s one immediately to the left when you enter Route 207. Now, to get Larvitar in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl or BDSP, use the Poke Radar and then visit the spots where the beeps appear in the grass. Rinse and repeat until you get into a fight with a Larvitar. All that’s left to do then is catch it. The chances of one spawning are 12%, so good luck.

There is one more way that you can get Larvitar in Pokemon BDSP or Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, and that’s to go to Rocky Cave in the Grand Underground. Make sure to place a Rock-type statue in your secret base to increase your odds, and then keep going in and out of the Rocky Cave until a Larvitar spawns. It’s gonna take you a while, but then again, so is using the Poke Radar in the grass of Route 207. Choose what seems less annoying to you.
