Pokemon GO Seedot Spotlight Hour

The Seedot Spotlight Hour event in Pokemon GO will take place on Tuesday, January 27th, and Seedot will spawn much more often in the wild during it, including the shiny version. More specifically, the Spotlight Hour will happen between 6 PM and 7 PM local server time, as usual. And, as always, there is a special bonus that you can use to your advantage. In this one, it will be double catch XP. In other words, you’ll get twice the XP for catching Pokemon. Not just Seedot, mind you; any Pokemon you catch should give you the extra experience. Of course, you’ll mostly be encountering Seedot, which also means that you’ll have higher odds of encountering a shiny one. That brings up our next point…

Can Seedot be Shiny?

Yes, Seedot can be shiny in Pokemon GO, and the same is true of its evolutions, Nuzleaf and Shiftry. So, if you want a special version of one or all of these Pokemon, then the Spotlight Hour will be the perfect opportunity to catch one. The one thing that you do have to know is how to tell the shiny Seedot apart from the regular one. Well, it’s not the most obvious difference, but it is noticeable. The color of the “body” of the regular version of Seedot is a drab brown, as you can see in the image above. The shiny’s body, on the other hand, is more of a reddish, chestnut brown. So, it shouldn’t be too difficult to differentiate between them.
