How to transfer Pokemon from Let’s Go Pikachu & Eeevee to Sword & Shield?

There’s only one way to do this, and it isn’t available yet. It’s called Pokemon Home, and it’ll launch at some point during 2020. It might require a subscription, like the Pokemon Bank before it. When it goes live, it’ll allow you to transfer pokemon from Let’s Go to Sword or Shield, provided those pokemon are available in the Galar pokedex. Until then, there’ll be no way to do it.

Can you transfer Pikachu & Eevee from Let’s Go to Sword & Shield?

Yes and no. You can’t transfer the specific Pikachu or Eevee from Let’s Go, but if you have a save file from the game on your Switch, the new game will import it and gift you a new, generic Pikachu or Eevee (depending on which started you had in Let’s Go).

Can you transfer Pokemon from older games (Sun & Moon) to Sword & Shield?

Not at the moment. However, when Pokemon Home launches in 2020, you will be able to transfer them from the Pokemon Bank into Pokemon Home. Once they’re there, you’ll be able to transfer them into Sword and Shield, but only if they’re native to the Galar region. Keep in mind that a Pokemon Bank subscription costs $5 per year, and Home will probably also be a paid service.
