Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Open Red X Force Field Door

Red X Force Field Doors in Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart are obstacles that you’ll have to figure out how to go through. This is necessary, because the force fields block access to certain areas, some of them straight-up blocking your way forward through the main game. Moreover, once you’re able to get through them, you’ll also be able to cross other obstacles. In our Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Open Red X Force Field Door guide, we’ll explain how the whole thing works.

How to Get Through Red X Force Field Door in Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart

To open the red X force field door in Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, you need to play through the game until you unlock a special tool. Specifically, you need to obtain a glove that gives you the Phantom Dash ability. You get that after you find Club Nefarious on Corson V. You go inside looking for a Resistance member called Phantom. Unfortunately, just after you find him (and those who have played the 2016 game will be delighted to see who it is), a bunch of robots raid the place and Phantom runs away.

So, you have to give chase across the city and use your rift-hopping abilities to reach the guy and save him from the robots. You can’t really fail at this; the level leads you down the linear path straight to the Phantom. After you destroy the robots, talk to him, and you’ll get the Phantom Dash. The game will then teach you how to open the Red X Force Field Door in Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. You don’t actually open them; rather, you use the Dash to blink through them.

That’s not the only way that you can use the glove, either. The Phantom Dash can also propel you forwards across larger gaps, as well as let you run across certain walls. It’s a ton of fun, and you have to master it in order to have half a chance to survive the world of Rift Apart.
