Capcom have released a new teaser trailer for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It’s only 30 seconds long, but it’s a montage full of new and exciting scenes, characters and soundbites. It’s not going to tell you much about the game, but it does hint at some interesting possibilities. Plus, it’s got a great little theme song.
It opens with a shot of the mansion exterior on a sunny day. It cuts to a hunched girl standing in the middle of what appears to be an attic. A woman yells that the house is off limits. We’re given a brief glimpse of her gray face. As a large figure drags the players body towards the house, with another slumped over his shoulder, we hear a TV host talking about multiple disappearances being reported.
A woman screams, pleading with someone, asking them to leave her alone, while we watch images from a crooked walkway surrounded by hanging, broken dolls. A writhing horror escapes from the confines of the flesh heap on the wall, while the camera cuts away to an abandoned swingset, still rocking slowly.
We hear a woman begging someone not to hurt another. A swarm of bugs attacks the player character, quickly followed by someone dragging them, hands tied with a zip lock. Some kind of matter spreads across a family portrait. There are a couple more interiors before we’re treated with a combat scene. The protagonist wields a pump action shotgun, while a crazed man attacks them with a chainsaw.
It all happens really quickly, so you’ll have to watch it a couple of times if you want to soak up every image. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is going to be released on January 24th, on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. It’s also going to support Playstation VR, in case the regular version isn’t scary enough for you.
