Resident Evil Village Courtyard Key Location

The courtyard key in Resident Evil 8 is one of the many keys that you’ll be collecting across the game. However, in order to get access to the courtyard of Castle Dimitrescu, you need to solve a puzzle, for which you’ll need a particular item. It’s actually more complicated than you might think, but nothing too tough. So, if you’re wondering where to find the courtyard key in RE8, then our Resident Evil Village Courtyard Key Location guide is the right place for you.

Where to Find Courtyard Key in Resident Evil Village

To find the Resident Evil Village courtyard key, the first step is to go into the kitchen of Castle Dimitrescu. You’re probably gonna come across it after going through the dungeons and killing one of the daughters. When you enter the kitchen from the northern door, you’ll see a tub of blood immediately to the right, next to a lantern. There’s a bottle in the tub, so pick it up. It’s called Sanguis Virginis, just in case you weren’t sure what you’re dealing with. Then, exit the kitchen through the doorway to the west, and turn left. Walk down the hallway and go through the door.

You’re now gonna be in the dining room. As soon as you go in, head to the right and unlock the big double doors. Walk into the Main Hall area and climb up the long staircase on the right. As soon as you get to the top, you’ll see a door marked “Wine Room.” You’re almost at the Resident Evil Village courtyard key location. Enter it and take a gander to the right. You’ll see a kind of mini-altar, and you need to place the bottle of Sanguis Virginis on it. This will open a secret room, inside which you’ll find a small chest. Open it to find the key.

Now that you have the Resident Evil 8 courtyard key, rush back down into the dining room and run across it to the double doors opposite of the main hall. Examine the lock, place the key into it, and you’ll now be in the courtyard. The reason I say you should rush back is because one of the daughters will be back to pester you. Luckily, you can outrun her to (relative) safety if you’re fast enough.
