Where to Find Trident Of Dark Tides in Sea of Thieves

To find the Sea of Thieves Trident of Dark Tides, you have to get lucky and obtain it via loot. You will not find it in any Weapon Locker or anything like that. Instead, you have to get it like you would something like the Ash and Wind Skull. So, what are some sources that you can get the trident from?

Well, for one, you can sometimes find them washed up on shore, as well as in wrecked ships. You can also run into them in skeleton fort Vaults and on their ships, as well as during the newly-added Pirate’s Life Tall Tales. Last, but not least, you can sometimes earn them as rewards after defeating Krakens and Megalodons.

Can You Sell Trident Of Dark Tides

No, you cannot sell the Trident of Dark Tides to any vendor in Sea of Thieves. None of them will accept the weapon, so you can’t use it to earn any gold or reputation by selling the item. I can only assume that this is because the Trident eventually runs out of charge and explodes, as we’ll explain below. Whatever the reason behind this decision might be, it doesn’t change a dang thing for you in the game. All you need to know is that no vendor will buy the trident from you, so just use them freely. They’re pretty useful weapons, anyway.

How to Use Trident Of Dark Tides

To use the Trident of Dark Tides in Sea of Thieves, you first have to equip it. Because it is a special weapon, you cannot equip anything else when using it, nor can you sprint with it. It is also a ranged weapon that fires bubbles, which you can use either against AI enemies, or to knock people around.

Now, when firing the trident, you can hold down the fire button to charge the bubble. There are three “sizes” that you can charge the bubble to – small, medium, and large. Each of them is slower than the last, but deals more damage, and drains the trident faster. The smallest bubble deals about 30 damage and can be fired about thirty times. The medium bubble deals sixty damage, but drains the trident in fifteen or so shots. Lastly, the large bubble deals about 90 damage, but the trident is done after just ten of these shots. When you drain the trident completely, it just falls to pieces and is permanently gone.
