How to Go Back to Cozumel in Shadow of the Tomb Raider?

In order to go back to Cozumel, the starting area in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you first have to complete the game. I know, I know, you’ve probably left behind a lot of collectibles in Cozumel, but that’s just how it is. The fact of the matter is, Cozumel just doesn’t have any base camps you can travel back to. Until you complete the game, that is. I don’t know why things have to be that way, but there you have it. Go ahead and complete the game.

See, what happens after you complete the game is, you then have complete free roam of the map. So, essentially, nothing in the game is truly missable, you just have to push to the end first. That’s when you get to basically go back and hoover up whatever you might have left behind. And, yes, this includes the area of Cozumel. Once you complete the game, base camps will pop up in the area, allowing you to go back for all those collectibles or secrets you missed in your first run-through. Honestly, who could blame you, there’s so much of the stuff, you’re bound to overlook something.

So, that’ll do it for our guide on how to return to Cozumel in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. True. I’m there right now. The problem I’m having is leaving again. Guess I’ll try to make my way back to one of the 2 base camps there are.

Ive encountered an issue in this area. I can’t actually get off the main platform where the knife was taken. There’s nowhere to Grappel or jump. I went back for collectibles. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Chloe, I did the exact same thing. Died a whole bunch trying to get out. I finally got out by having my left side/flank against the middle of the caved in area, then running & aiming for the bell. Hope this helps!!

Molly is correct. You must jump to lower concrete platform and then jump to the lowest bells. You can then scramble/pickaxe up to the base camp at the entrance to this giant open area. It looks like a far jump, but you take a little damage and recover.

I’m confused; I’m stuck on that platform and can’t make the jump at all.

Just wasted two hours on the same issue. Leave the platform and jump to the first bell. Jump to the cement/land on left instead of the second bell. u can backtrap to the base camp to and fast trap out of that hell hole.

The game ushers you along in Cozumel as a sort of beginner’s tutorial but it also puts you in the next map before you know it. I’ve played Tomb Raider for many years so I started over in a new save slot to try and ignore the main story-line so I could explore. I either messed up, or the game doesn’t want you to explore the first map. I had a couple of camp sites left behind in Cozumel so I want back to explore as much as possible but could not find a way out. I did pick up some extra gold, emeralds, other goodies and the Treasure Chest.
