Skyrim launches on the Nintendo Switch on November 17th, 2017. This is something that the Nintendo community has been waiting for ever since the Switch was first announced. Needless to say, this version of Skyrim allows you to get various Zelda items – the Champion’s Tunic, Master Sword, and Hylian Shield. There’s a whole bunch of amiibos that have a chance of unlocking one of these three items for you.

How to unlock Zelda Shield, Sword, Tunic in Skyrim on Switch

You can use a whole host of different Legend of Zelda-themed amiibo from different series to unlock the Hylian Shield, Champion’s Tunic, and Master Sword in Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch. It’s pretty simple to use them on the Switch. All you have to do is hit B, then choose Magic in the selection screen that pops up. Select amiibo, and tap the amiibo. This will make a chest appear in the game. Every chest you summon has a 20% chance to give you the shield, tunic, or sword. You’ll also find gems, gold, food, and other stuff. Note that you can only use any given amiibo once per day.

Below, we’ve listed all the amiibos that you can use to unlock the Master Sword, Champion’s Tunic, and Master Sword in the Nintendo Switch port of Skyrim. Before that, though, we have to mention that there is a way to unlock these items without using amiibos. It is pretty difficult, though, since you’ll have to climb all the way to the top of The Throat of the World, near Ivarstead. The chest you’ll find there contains all three items.

On my version of Skyrim, (Switch) the path to the top of the Throat of The World is blocked by a weird magic barrier similar to Ancano’s barrier in The College of Winterhold’s main questline. Is there a certain shout I need to learn to get past the barrier?
