Fans of fighting games are having a blast right now. Developers have made a ton of announcements of new stuff coming to various games. For one, Namco Bandai announced that Geese Howard is coming to Tekken 7. Street Fighter is also getting a new DLC character, who is a part of the Season 2 Character Pass. Like Geese Howard, it’s also a crossover fighter from another franchise – Abigail, from Final Fight. Those that own the Character Pass will be able to play as him starting July 25th.

For those that might not remember, Final Fight was Capcom’s answer to the classic beat-em-up Double Dragon. The two games are very similar, but Final Fight still held its own at the time. Additionally, characters from Final Fight have a history of appearing in Street Fighter games. Several members of the Mad Gear Gang, namely Rolento, Sodom, Poison, and arguably the most popular one, Hugo, have made their mark. Now, it’s Abigail’s time to shine.

Abigail is an enormous, hulking brute, relying on little more than raw strength to obliterate his enemies. As you can see in the reveal trailer below, his moves are truly brutal, if somewhat sluggish. He can even use the opponent as a punching bag quite literally.

Interestingly, it seems that the fan reaction to Abigail’s introduction is pretty negative, at least judging by the response to the video. They don’t seem too delighted, to say the least. I’m not entirely sure why, so I hope someone might explain in the comments.
