Tekken 7 is the Top-Selling Game of June 2017, According to NPD Group

It’s time for the NPD Group’s monthly industry sales report for June 2017. According to their findings, Tekken 7 is the best-selling game of the month across all platforms. Looking at the numbers of each platform separately, the numbers are quire different, but Tekken 7 is the reigning champion overall.

It should come as no surprise that Tekken 7 ended up the best-selling game of June 2017. After all, fans of the series have been waiting for ages for the game to arrive on your usual gaming platforms. Before its worldwide launch, Tekken 7 was an arcade-only title in Japan for a very long time, so, of course, fighting game fans immediately jumped at the opportunity to play it.

In second place, we have another fighting game, Injustice 2, which also ended up being the best-selling game for the Xbox One last month. GTA V is in third place, while Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Arms finished in fourth and fifth, respectively. Pretty good numbers, considering both are exclusive titles on their consoles.

  16. Battlefield 1
  17. Minecraft
  18. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind
  19. FIFA 17
  20. Forza Horizon 3

In other news, the PlayStation 4 is the best-selling gaming hardware, for the second month in a row. After it launched, the Nintendo Switch held first place for a couple of months, but the PS4 has managed to climb back into the top spot and stay there. This could easily change once the Xbox One X hits the market, though. We’ll just have to wait and see.
