Dedicated server disconnected

The most common reason for players to get booted out of their dedicated server immediately is a difference between the version of the server and the client. In other words, your game was updated, but the server was not. So the first things you should try is to update the server.

This discrepancy often happens because people shut down the server by turning off the PC it’s running on. For best results, we suggest you use Ctrl+C to shutdown the server before turning the machine off.

If you’re running the server on the same network you’re playing on (in other words, from inside the house), you might want to try using your local IP instead of the public one. If you don’t know what your local IP is, open up cmd and then run ipconfig. Your local IP will be listed as IPv4.

Lastly, there’s a bit of voodoo you could try – it sounds silly, but people swear it worked. On the server machine, open up the window with the world info, then hit enter. It’ll throw up some text – keep hitting enter until it runs out of messages to show. After that, you should be able to connect once more. No idea what it does, but a bunch of folks say it helped them, so it’s worth a try.
