When is Watch Dogs getting co-op?

At the time of release, Watch Dogs Legion will only support singleplayer. That’s the bad news. The good news is that it is getting co-op in a free update, and we won’t have to wait long. The developers have stated that it will be getting multiplayer support on December 3rd.

Even better news is that co-op won’t be tied to missions. You’ll be allowed to explore the open world with up to three other players. Each player will be able to bring their own opertives to the session, and there will be new missions designed specifically for co-op.

The same update will feature Tactical Ops, dedicated four player missions that require a lot of planning and communication. If you were more interested in battling other players instead of working together, there will be something in it for you as well. The Spider Bot Arena will allow up to eight players to engage in a free for all skirmish. Other PvP modes have been hinted at, but there’s no info on them.

Invasion is also making a return – the mode where you hack other players and try not to get noticed. They’re touting it as a “fan favorite”, but I honestly hope we can opt out of it. The invasions in previous games were more of a nuissance, and didn’t really add much. Apart from the option to pester others, like a digital mosquito.
