Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Launches on Nintendo Switch Winter 2017

JRPG fans that own a Nintendo Switch are in for a treat this winter. Nintendo has announced that they’re releasing Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles, in the holiday season of 2017. Even though it’s a sequel, the game will feature a brand new character called Rex. He meets the mysterious girl Pyra, and together, they set out to search for a place called Elysium. Here’s how Nintendo describes it:

Explore an endless ocean of clouds, where the last remnants of civilization live on the backs of colossal beasts called Titans. Experience the story of Rex and his new friend, Pyra, a mysterious being known as a Blade who grants him tremendous power. Together, search for Pyra’s long lost home Elysium, the ultimate paradise for all of humanity.

As you’d expect, Nintendo also released a trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and, by god, it looks glorious. It’s what every JRPG fan dreams of. Epic turn-based combat? Check. Giant monsters? Check. Cheesy dialogue? Check. Over-the-top, awesome super moves? Check and double-check. The video also outlines the beginning of the plot, as well as the setting. In essence, Elysium is a mythical place on the World Tree, where the creator of all, The Architect, resides. Rex and Pyra set out to find it, but they’ll have to overcome many difficulties on their way. Check out the video and see for yourself.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 seems like the perfect game for any lover of this particular style of RPGs. It might even sell systems. Either way, this game is something many gamers would love to see in their stockings this winter holiday season.
