Assassin’s Creed Origins New “From Sand” Cinematic Trailer Released

Ubisoft has released a new cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Origins. The video is called “From Sand”. A very apt name. There’s quite a bit of sand in it, there’s no doubt about it. In fact, there’s so much sand in it, there’s pretty much nothing else. But the sand? It’s there, all right. And it gets everywhere, to say nothing about how rough and coarse and irritating it is. Yes, I went there.

Joking aside, the trailer is very impressive, at least visually. Every memorable aspect of Ancient Egyptian culture slowly and dramatically turns into sand, as some beautiful, mellow music slowly builds over it. The disintegration starts small, with a poor little cat. Next is a human heart, held by a priest of Anubis. From there, the scale gets bigger and bigger. Boats on the Nile, a huge obelisk, a large army, and even the pyramids themselves turn to dust. It all slowly builds into a huge sandstorm. From the roiling dust, our protagonist, Bayek the Medjay, walks into the shot, looking like a badass. The trailer ends on the line: Where it all ends, it begins, which, admittedly, is not the best of lines, but oh well.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is coming out on October 27th, 2017. You’ll be able to play it on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. If you want to watch the From Sand trailer, you can find it embedded below. It does look cool, and, well… that’s about it.
