Destiny 2 Loot-a-palooza Key & Dance Party Chest Secret Revealed

The Dance Party & Loot-a-palooza chests were a Destiny 2 urban legend until this week. They were something players were discussing – some swore they’ve seen them, others rolled their eyes and remained skeptical. All of this changed earlier this week, when the Faction Rally started. It turns out they’re not actually chests – but there are keys that match those names. And they’re part of a secret Tower ritual that can reward you with some nice gear.

Destiny 2 Loot-a-palooza & Dance Party Key Secret Revealed

You may have already seen our Loot-a-palooza & Dance party guide, which explains the whole event in detail. The gist of it is that you can now get the infamous Loot-a-palooza key from the Leviathan raid. Once you have it, you can insert it into a terminal near the Dead Orbit vendor at the Tower. This will spawn several chests across the social space and start a timer. You need to collect all the chests before the time runs out – the final one will contain the dance party key.

Once you’ve got that one, you can find a terminal near any of the three faction vendors. Use the key on it, and a chest will spawn for everyone in your instance. You can all open it and get some free loot. Well, aside from the one who brought the key – it’s not really free in their case, since they had to work for it. The loot will be random, just like everything else in the entire universe, so there’s no guarantee you’ll end up with something nice, but it should be fun. We’ve heard of people getting exotics from it, but we haven’t had that kind of crazy good luck. It’s like a cherry on top of the raid, an activity to help calm you down after the four hour adrenaline rush of the Leviathan.
