Zelda: Breath of the Wild speedrun – how fast is too fast?

Perhaps, but we are here to talk about one specific speedrun – that of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, probably one of the largest game worlds to come out this year. Be that as it may, the solution to the main quest is somewhat less far away than you might think.

Zelda has been in the news quite a while lately, being the only real launch title for Nintendo Switch. On the plus side, it is one of the best launch titles in history of any console. It is also the first Zelda to receive DLCs. The expansions will come out some time during the year. The first one contains a new challenge dubbed Cave of Trials, a hard mode, and some map features. The second one will feature new challenges, a new dungeon, and even a new original story.

And speaking of a huge game, the map is rife with names reminiscent of various Zelda games of yore. It has gotten a large amount of people discussing theories on where Breath of the Wild actually fits in the Zelda timeline. One of the theories is actually considering BotW being a kind of a hub, a place where all the strands of the various Zelda stories come together. The others are following the idea that it happens after Wind Waker, due to Koroks, while the Wolf Link from Twilight Princess appearing through Amiibo makes the waters of theoreticising even murkier.
