How to Capture an Ant in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Animal Crossing New Horizons ants are insects that you can capture and donate or sell in the game. However, the trick with catching ants in ACNH is that you can’t just find them anywhere, as you’d assume. Instead, you have to leave something out for them in order to make them come out of the ground. If you’re having trouble figuring out where and how to get ants in the game, then welcome to our How to Capture an Ant in Animal Crossing New Horizons guide; we’ll explain everything you need to know.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Ants – How to Catch?

To catch ants in Animal Crossing New Horizons, you have to leave a turnip outdoors until it spoils (it has to be outdoors). It takes a couple of days for this to happen, so you can use time travel to skip the wait. We did it that way, so why wouldn’t you? Anyway, once the turnip spoils, you’ll see a line of ants going from it to their anthill. All you have to do at that point is to equip the net from the inventory and catch an ant. You don’t need any special approach, unlike, say, the tarantula. Just approach line of ants and swing your net, simple as that.

Now, for some insects, you have to know at what time of year and day they appear. Not the case at all with ants. As you can see in the image above, they can appear throughout the whole year, and at any time of day. So, all you need is a turnip left out in the open and some patience. That is, of course, if you have some turnips to spare, since they can be very lucrative.
