ACNH fans have been greeted with a host of new content as of late. Some of it came in the form of the 2.0 update, while other additions come courtesy of the paid Happy Home Paradise DLC. The ability to polish furniture is one such inclusion, and if you have purchased this new DLC, you will be able to use it – not just in the new areas, but on your own island as well. Of course, before you can do that, you will first need to unlock this option in the game. Our Polishing ACNH – How to Polish Furniture in Animal Crossing guide will explain how you can do this, and how polishing itself works in-game.
How to Polish Furniture ACNH
To begin with, you will need to have installed the latest 2.0 update and the Happy Home Paradise DLC itself. In case you are having problems getting either of these to work properly, we recommend you read through our how to start 2.0 update and how to start Happy Home Paradise DLC guides. You will first encounter polishing during the 5th Vacation Home Request. After you have completed this job, you will also get the option to polish furniture on your own island as well – albeit only in your own home.
In order to polish furniture, first press L to enter Cleaning Mode. Then, press A to polish, and hold A for a couple of seconds more to give the piece of furniture you are polishing an even better polish. Once you have completed your 12th Vacation Home Request, you will unlock the Effect Menu option. This allows you to change the polish effects on your furniture. There are 14 of these: Sparkleblast, Pitterpat, Dizzyspin, Spaceblip, Dripdrop, Fuzzybubs, Gloomswirl, Steamshine, Brrrbrrr, Zappamatic, Stressbuzz, Bobbleshock, Flutterflap, and Chatterblurb.
