The latest free update to ACNH, which brings Animal Crossing New Horizons to version 2.0, is here. However, while the update should have occurred without any problems, some players are reporting that they haven’t been able to update the game and get access to the new content. How to Start ACNH Update 2.0 & Get New Content

Some players are very confused over what they needed to do to get the new content in this update. Even after updating the game to the new version, all they seemingly got was the new group stretching system, and no new characters or islands which were supposed to have been there. And while group stretching is a fun addition to the game, it’s just one part that was supposed to have been included. In fact, the answer to this problem is very simple – in order to get access to the new content, you need to have a three star island. Only once you have that will you be able to get everything else from the 2.0 update.

How to Download Animal Crossing New Horizons Update 2.0

The 2.0 update has been made available for download as of Wednesday, November 3rd 2021. If your game hasn’t updated automatically to the latest version, you will need to go through the following process. Don’t worry, it isn’t very hard to do. In the Switch Home menu, press the Plus button while you have Animal Crossing New Horizons icon highlighted. From here, select the “Software update” option. Your game should now update to version 2.0. Note that the Happy Home Paradise paid DLC still isn’t available, even if you have pre-purchased it. This DLC should come out November 5th.
