The hype for Cyberpunk 2077 is only getting bigger by the day, especially after the recently revealed gameplay video. So, people have been asking questions about Cyberpunk 2077; among other things, whether the game will have 3rd person and/or coop multiplayer. We’re here to answer those questions; let’s see will Cyberpunk 2077 have coop multiplayer and 3rd person.
Will Cyberpunk 2077 Have 3rd Person?
The answer to that is basically yes and no. For the majority of the game, you’ll be playing in first person, as anybody who has watched the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay video has seen. There will be some third-person sections; specifically, when you’re driving and in cutscenes. Other than that, you’ll be experiencing Cyberpunk 2077 through the eyes of your character V.
As for switching between third and first person, that won’t be in the game. According to everything we know so far, there’s no way to freely jump between the two. Basically, you won’t be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 like you did The Witcher 3.
Will Coop Multiplayer be in Cyberpunk 2077?
Unfortunately, no; at least, not according to the developers. Based on everything we’ve seen of the game, there will be no multiplayer at all, let alone coop multiplayer. The devs said a while ago: “We have multiplayer in R&D, but the game we’re shipping to you, the game you’re going to buy is the single-player experience.” So, make of that what you will. You could read that sentence as a possible hint towards a possibility of multiplayer, but as it stands, I really wouldn’t get my hopes up.
That’s probably for the best, though. CD Projekt Red has proven that they’re at their best in the single player RPG arena. There’s no particular reason for Cyberpunk 2077 to have multiplayer, I don’t think that’s the market it’s shooting for. There’s enough work with a whole different setting and the first-person perspective without adding multiplayer to the mix. Would multiplayer coop be cool in this game? Absolutely. But, again, Cyberpunk 2077 really doesn’t seem like that type of game.
