With the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 (for real, this time, one hopes) looming ever closer over the horizon, CD Projekt Red has unleashed another gameplay video, specific to the PlayStation. It starts off with PlayStation 4 and then, about midway through, switches to PlayStation 5 quality, via backwards compatibility. While the game does look fairly stunning in both versions, the PS5 does outshine it’s older brother.
Now, I do have to mention that the video doesn’t feature much new footage. It presents some material from the beginning missions of the Nomad class. We see the encounter with the mechanic in the garage, approaching the California border and getting interrogated, and finally making it to Night City. There’s also the shootout with Scavs, watching private militias in action, and more. Again, not much that we haven’t seen before. However, I do believe that this is by design. Why?
Well, in my opinion, it’s so that new footage doesn’t detract from the comparison of the visuals. The aim of the trailer, after all, is to show you what the game looks like on PS4 and PS5. Speaking of, don’t forget; you can purchase the game on PS4 and Xbox One, and it will work on their new-gen counterparts. Some time next year, you can expect to get the aforementioned backwards compatibility patch. So, if you can’t get your hands on a new console, like many can’t, feel free to purchase Cyberpunk on your current platform. You’ll be fine.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out on Thursday, December 10th (fingers crossed). You can pick it up on PC (including via CDPR’s own GOG), Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Google Stadia. There’s still some two weeks left to wait, so take a gander at the gameplay video below to while away a few minutes of your impatience. See you in Night City!
If you need help with anything else in the game, we have guides for you to check out. For example, if you don’t know how to remove the virus from the chip and find the Militech Datashard correct cack sequence we can help. Or, can you save Jackie in Cyberpunk 2077? We'll also help with your first Cyberpunk 2077 braindance during the Information quest.
