How to Get Bow in Elden Ring

If you need to know how to get a bow in Elden Ring, we’re here to help you out. Ranged weapons are always useful in Souls games, if for no other reason, then because it lets you draw out enemies one by one. Even if you don’t use it as your main damage dealer, you should still have a bow at your side, especially if you wield no magic. The versatility a ranged weapon can offer is very important. So, let’s see how we can get you one, shall we?

Elden Ring Bow Location

There are a number of different bow locations in Elden Ring. We found our first several ranged weapons as random drops from mobs. For example, we got a heavy crossbow from one of the archer enemies on the road to Stormveil castle from the Stormhill Shack site of grace. Crossbows work great as ranged weapons, so they can easily replace a bow until you find one.

As for an actual bow, or longbow in this case, the first one we got was in Tombsward Catacombs. This dungeon is in the Weeping Peninsula. The place is crawling with skeletons of all different types, and some of them are archers, and they can drop a longbow for you. Oh, and quick side note: the bandit and samurai classes begin the game with a bow. So, if you want to focus on ranged combat from the start, those are your options.

EDIT: We finally found the shortbow. You can buy it from a vendor on the coast of West Limgrave as seen in the screenshots below. It is the easiest ranged weapon to acquire and will serve you well in a pinch. It’s only real drawback is its very limited range.

Elden Ring Horn Bow with Magic Damage Location

The Horn Bow location in Elden Ring is the first “fixed” bow we found, and it even has extra Magic damage. However, it’s difficult to find. First, you have to go into a small building in Siofra River Well (in East Limgrave) and ride the elevator all the way down. Then, go to the southeast of the area (both locations provided in the screenshots below). The bow is on a corpse under the bridge leading to the boss east of the Siofra River Bank site of grace.

So, overall, the easiest way to get a ranged weapon is to either farm the mobs at Stormveil or the skeletons in Tombsward Catacombs. We still haven’t been able to find a shortbow as of writing this article yes we have, check above. If you have a better way to get a bow in the game, let us know in the comments below.
