Mafia 3 new DLC and free demo

New Bordeaux was one of the best looking (when it didn’t glitch) and best sounding cities in gaming last year. It was quite a shame that Mafia 3’s interesting narrative failed short when it came to repetitive sidemissions – even for open-world games standards! The developers Hangar 13 are finally putting out the first story-driven DLC, dubbed Faster, baby! as well as putting a demo out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The DLC features fast cars, dramatic chases and stunt driving while the main character Lincoln joins up with a lady he has some shared history with, trying to take down a corrupt sheriff in New Bordeaux. The Steam page says that “The Faster, Baby! DLC is ready to roll—and with it come a number of game enhancements, gear, new vehicles to add to your fleet. And, of course, there’s the story of small town corruption choking Sinclair Parish. It’s up to Lincoln Clay and Roxy Laveau to do something about it.”

The DLC is also bringing new weapons (Silenced MK 1020 and a proximity mine) some juicy ol’ cars (Lassiter Nightcrawler has that gorgeous 70s vibe), as well as new characters. The developers are promising “Hollywood-style car chases”, with an option to activate slow motion.

The game will also see two more story-based DLCs in short succession. The first one, Stones Unturned, will be released in May 2017, and Lincoln will have to join a CIA agent to settle a blood feud related to his experiences in the jungles of Vietnam. The second one, Sing of the Times, is set around ritualistic killings in New Bordeaux. A prist, father James, asks Lincoln to help hunt down the cult. This DLC should be out in July 2017.

This might be a good time to give Mafia 3 a go, since the demo covers the opening act which is an exciting bank heist and easily one of the best parts of the game.
